A few weeks back, I had the pleasure of speaking with Greg from Unscripted Moments, a podcast about (my all-time favourite band) Propagandhi on the subject of punk rock, hockey, Don Cherry, and (duh) Propagandhi. The song discussed, “Dear Coach’s Corner”, is one of my all-time faves, with a message that’s very personal to me. I had a blast, and the episode turned out great too.
Hockey’s the best game there is, if you ask me, but there’s a lot that could be changed about the culture of “game of our lives” that would make it better, for everyone, to enjoy. We get into that a little bit, and many other things as well (including this article I wrote 10 years ago for Briarpatch magazine).
If you’d like to check it out, it’s available on pretty much all the podcast platforms. Check out the link here to download it (Episode 50) today. Our section clocks in around an hour long, but there’s also two beauty covers of the tune that come at it from wildly different angles, and a very interesting interview with Scott Radinksy, from the popular SoCal punk bands Pulley and Ten Foot Pole, who might also be known for his years as a MLB pitcher! Great stuff all around. Crank it up, let’s go!
